Dear Dernier Friends,
Easter is now over, but the wonder of the resurrection still remains – Jesus is alive forever, and because he lives, we live! I went to the funeral of a wonderful godly man yesterday… he was a shining light for Jesus wherever he went.
What an inspiration! Now it’s up to us to follow in the footsteps of the people who have gone before…
The task that has been given me, is to work on publishing books for you to give to your children! Please do pray for me, and for all the Dernier team, including our wonderful authors.
Right, today I have three particular things to write to you about!
The first is:
Michele Guinness and Memory Makers
Many of you will have heard of Michele Guinness. As a young Christian, her books helped me to learn what it really meant to be a Christian, and to put my faith in practice.
As you may know, Michele was born into a practising Jewish family, just like the main characters in Memory Makers, and we were so delighted when she agreed to write a commendation!
This is what she says:

We hope this will encourage you to buy the book for yourself, and all the 8-12s girls in your life!
Discrimination is a topic we all need to discuss with our children. It’s not an easy time to be a Jewish child, and we need to watch out for them.
This is more of a book for girls, as the central characters are women – you can buy it from any Christian bookshop (support them if you can), from the Dernier Publishing website, or from any bookshop anywhere.
Here’s the second thing I have to tell you about:
37 Way to Inspire Your Children to Love Reading
When I heard that 2026 was designated by the UK government as National Year of Reading, I wondered what we can do, here at Dernier, to help.
I came up with 37 ways to inspire your children (which includes teens) to love reading!
Whatever your children’s ages, and however much or little they read, there will be something here for you, I promise.
I have put all these together, and have produced it as:
- Website content – you can find it here, on the news pages of the Dernier website
- A downloadable pdf (FREE – click on the link above and follow the instructions)
- A kindle ebook (£1.99 – click here to see more)

(Why pay when you can get it free? It just might be handy, that’s all, to have it easily to hand on your device – don’t feel obliged!)
Book Club
It’s not too late to join the Dernier Book Club, at the special price, with 13 months for the price of 12.
If you’re thinking you’d love to buy Dernier books, but don’t quite know where to start, the Book Club will totally cut the overwhelm!

Every month you will be sent a book from across the Dernier range to read and pass on – not only will it be a delightful surprise for you every month, but after reading it, you will know exactly who to pass it on to!
I’ve said this before, but giving a Christian book to a child is like taking them to Jesus, for him to bless them. What happens between them is beyond our control! But let’s by all means take as many children to Jesus as we can.
Right, that’s my three things – Michele Guinness’ commendation of Memory Makers, the Book Club, and the Ways to Inspire Your Kids to Read document.
I hope you find at least one of these helpful!
Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for your support,
Janet
