First of all, a very Happy New Year to you, and welcome to all new email subscribers! It’s great to have you here, however you found us, and we hope you will soon very much feel part of the Dernier family, bringing good news to kids and teens through the medium of fun stories.
So, I have good news for you – and also some items for prayer.
Let’s have some good news first – we have launched our first ever writing competition for kids!

Please do share this with all your friends and family, and your church kids, and get them writing – not only will it give them some fun, but help them to think about faith at the same time – plus there are prizes to be won!
There are two age groups – 8-9 and 10-11. Hop on over to the competition page, sign up to get all the details, and get your kids writing. We can’t wait to receive their stories.

You know, we really do need to reach out to our kids, don’t we? Not far from us a 14-year-old boy was stabbed while travelling on a bus last Monday afternoon. Paramedics were called, but they couldn’t save him. Knife crime is a huge problem, not just in London. Let’s spread the good news while we can to the younger kids, so they never get involved in this type of activity.
If your church is involved in mission in the community, get them to give books to the families. It could save lives, not just for this life, but for eternity.
Right, I can’t leave on that note, can I? Here’s something really excellent to finish with – over 1,000 of our books were given to prisoners’ children at Christmas, through Prison Fellowship’s brilliant Angel Tree programme. Please pray for every one of these children, and the families. You just don’t know what the Holy Spirit might do!
