This was a page turner! The element of mystery surrounding the character of Lily gives a gritty story a flavour of magic – or magical realism, perhaps? The Christian imagery is beautifully woven in, there for the noticing, but could probably go unnoticed until the last page by a reader unfamiliar with it. The character of the narrator is very relatable. I really enjoyed this book.
