
‘Write for Life’ Children’s Writing Competition
Theme
The theme of the competition is
TREASURE!
The story must include at least one Christian character.
Word Count
The story must be 500 words or less.
Categories
There are two categories:
- 8-9 year-olds
- 10-11 year-olds
Competition Deadline
The competition deadline is 31st March 2025.
How to Submit Your Stories
Please send a digital copy of your child’s story in the body of the email, to [email protected]
Please include
- The story
- The title of the story
- Your child’s name or pen name
- Their age at date of submission.
- If the story has been translated from another language, please include the original story, as well as the English translation, with the name of the translator.
Please use the email address you used to register, to submit your story/stories.
Important Details
The story must be original, and all your child’s own work.
It is prohibited to use AI in any part of writing the story. It is vital for our children to be able to develop their own imaginations and skill as writers.
Entries are permissible from any country of the world. All entries should be submitted in English, but can be translated from the original if written in another language. If the story has been translated from another language, please also include the story in the original language in which the story was written, and the name of the translator.
If you wish your child to use a pen name, you are free to do so.
We will not be able to return stories, so please make sure you keep a copy.
Submitting your child’s story means allowing us to use to reproduce the story.
To make sure your stories are included, please make sure they arrive before the final submission date.
The word count limit is 500 words.
Prizes include:
1st place in each category:
- A treasure chest of 10 Dernier Books
2nd Place in each category
- A copy of The Treasure Hunt, Mystery in the Snow and Suspicious Deliveries
3rd Place in each category
